Leadership Director Curriculum Strategy and Quality

Thank you for your interest in this key leadership position in my Senior Leadership Team at Lowton Church of England High School.

This is a key role to lead the school’s curriculum strategy with me and ensure that its implementation results in the highest quality outcomes for the children we serve.

I started as the new Headteacher in September 2020 in the community in which I have lived for nearly two decades. This is my fourth headship and I have extensive school improvement experience working with some of the most successful schools in the country.

Since I joined in September 2020 I have set about clarifying a mission led, values-led ambitious curriculum vision that defines all that we want for our students. Our curriculum strategy is at the very heart of our school – strategically and in our day-to-day operations.

The curriculum strategy is attached to this pack. In considering this post, it is essential that you are signed up to this strategy and in applying for the role (and if appointed) you are committed to working with me and the rest of the senior leadership team implementing it.

Our ambition is not rooted in what an inspection framework is looking for, but comes from our underpinning Christian principles of caring, learning and succeeding so that every child regardless of their background or context will flourish, thrive and succeed in their time with us.

However, it is a reflection of our approach and commitment to excellence that our recent inspection (March 2021) recognises the strength of our vision, ambition, curriculum and leadership as a team. We do all that we do ‘through the lens of the child’.

We are a school on a mission – a Christian mission as well as an educational one.  In fact, it is my firm belief that the combination of the two will have a transforming effect on the life of each child.

I am looking for a person who understands and lives out both servant and instructional leadership in their professional work.

The conditions are ripe for our school to be exceptional and I am looking for a further member of my committed and cohesive senior leadership team to help us realise our ambition for our school community.

You will either be an existing senior leader aligned to our ambitions and thinking with a desire to make selfless impact in our setting.  Or you may be an experienced middle leader with a proven track record in delivering outcomes over time in a subject and have a secure understanding of planning and implementing curriculum change in and across subjects.
